Country Music Icon Lee Kernaghan is proud to be Patron for Aussie Helpers. Lee holds close to his heart the struggles of rural Australia, with his "Pass the Hat Around" Tours being clear evidence of where his heart is.
Lee has been able to use his voice to not only produce his music, but also to be the voice for awareness of the hardships in rural Australia.
Now as Patron of Aussie Helpers, his voice will help us to ensure all Australians know the impact that the drought is having on families.
Already his Drought Relief Concerts have bought hope to many. Of the concert staged at Grenfell, Lee says “The communities of the Central West of NSW have all been so affected by this drought, the worst in a 100 years. Our aim is to show them that we know what they have been through, we respect their fighting spirit and hopefully through our music we can create some hope for the future. This is not a fund raising event and entry is free to the families of the region.”
The Grenfell concert followed the first Spirit of the Bush Concert that Lee brought to the Wimmera Region of Victoria last March. That event was staged in Horsham and a staggering 20,000 people turned out to enjoy a day of music as a community and to put aside the pressures created by drought for what was a very special day celebrating the Spirit of the Bush.Lee appeared on Channel 7's "Sunrise" program Friday, 29th July 2007.
During the Broadcast, Lee launched and performed the first single of his album "The Spirit of the Bush".Lee was joined by fellow artists Adam Brand and Steve Forde, who recorded the single with him. (see Spirit of the Bush)
