As
an introduction to Aussie Helpers, we invite you to listen
to Murray Hardin's recital of his poem

"Rain
From Nowhere"
This is a brilliant, stark, (thankfully poetic) piece,
highlighting the plight of Australia's rural struggles.
Lend a Hand
We have many families that can't afford food, their water
supplies low, their stock are dying daily and their is no
site of relief. Some area's have been fortunate to have
rain, even floods, but for them the drought is not over -
there is more to a drought than no water and no grass, the
financial and emotional scaring is there for many years...
this is a green drought!
For every year there is a drought, it takes up to three
years to recover, so in some areas they will not be back on
their feet for another 18 years - that is if another dry
time doesn't occur during that period.
There are also areas that have still had no rain and the
future is looking bleak.
Wondering how you can assist our fellow Aussies who are
doing it tough.

Pamper our farmers wives
Many of our farmers wives have also suffered severely from
the drought, with no money, little water, dust and dying
stock, they have no time or money to go to town to get the
general haircut, facial or purchase the necessities. Some
are so short on water they can't even shower - something
many Australian's take for granted.
We are desperately seeking toiletry needs to enable us to
prepare pamper packs to distribute to these women. You can
assist through your work place, group or just friends by
asking them to donate these types of products for us to
distribute.
All donation will be collected by Aussie Helpers - all you
need to do is to notify us of a collection point and we will
do the rest.
